"The pizza in here is to die for though. Truly incredible. The pint and a pizza deal at lunch is great. The garlic and parmesan chips are also awesome."

About the bar
Sandbar sits on Grosvenor Street just behind Oxford Road — one of Manchester city centre's best-kept independent spots. The building has that lived-in character: rooms that open into other rooms, alcoves where you can actually hold a conversation, and a back bar that fills up without ever feeling like a cattle market.
There's a strong events programme running through the week — live music, life drawing, spoken word, and whatever else takes the team's fancy. The kitchen turns out stone-baked pizza alongside bar snacks, and the taps lean heavily independent. Now with a second site in Withington.
Food & drink
Made fresh and cooked in the stone oven. Order alongside a pint or grab the lunchtime pint-and-pizza deal. The garlic and parmesan chips are worth it too.

"An unassuming building from the outside, but we all know what happens when you assume… There is a great selection of beers, particularly several different Weissbiers. There is plenty of seating in various alcoves and different rooms."

"The cask ale was fine, all options are pretty local. Back in the Good Beer Guide for 2026."

"Great spot for always having at least one gluten free beer on tap, usually a couple. Generally a good atmosphere whenever I come. The music is almost never particularly loud, which means you can always converse."
